One way to make a fast, yet dramatic update to your home’s appearance, is to change your siding.   There are two great, low maintenance siding options out there that increase curb appeal and improve your home’s protection from the elements.

Fiber Cement Siding

One of the best low maintenance siding options out there is fiber cement, a combination of wood fiber and cement.  It can give the appearance of wood, stucco or masonry, is almost completely maintenance free, termite proof and nearly fireproof due to its concrete component.  Since it will not expand or contract like wood and vinyl, a painted surface lasts longer and requires refreshing every 15-20 years.

Vinyl Siding

Another low maintenance siding option is vinyl siding.  It is a less expensive option that comes in a variety of color and styles. Recent improvements have made it stronger, more weather resistant and esthetically pleasing.  In fact, now you can find vinyl siding that looks like wood, stone, or slate.  It will require power washing at least once a year for cleaning.
