A Trend Our Clients Love: White Cabinetry

Posted by Ben Thompson on 04.13.15

White cabinetry is white hot right now! Back in February we blogged about the top trends in kitchen and bath designs announced in the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) member survey and white cabinets were tops in both categories. The Thompson Remodeling design team would definitely agree that this is a trend we are going to continue to see for some time. In fact, our clients are selecting white cabinetry for projects in a wide range of design styles including farmhouse, European, modern and traditional. White provides a clean look that works well with different types of wood and tile treatments. Here are several examples of projects we've completed recently that demonstrate its versatility.

Thompson Remodeling remodeled all the living areas in this 1970's ranch eliminating four walls to open up the floorplan. At the center of the space is a new entertaining kitchen with purposely wide walkways to allow people to be a part of the cooking but out of the chef's way. White cabinetry is accented by Corian countertops and a lovely mosaic glass backsplash.

For this European style master bath, our client had a clear vision for her remodeled bath. This custom made floating vanity provides much needed storage and its clean lines balance perfectly with the curves of the vessel sinks.

This 80 year old farm house was in need of an update. The new kitchen has bright white cabinets, quartz countertops and an island with a butcher block counter. A custom banquette provides seating and a spot for the kids to play and do homework while its bench doubles as hidden storage. The wet bar in the dining space has loads of pantry space.

When a home only has one bathroom you need to maximize every inch of available space. Thompson Remodeling opened the center of the existing vanity to provide additional storage space and added a tower with open shelving. The vanity was painted white and updated with new granite countertops.
