Ben Thompson, CGR

Ben's first W-2 from Thompson Remodeling came at the age of 7. With Pat & Sandie as his parents, some say that Ben has been genetically hardwired for this business. The great nature vs. nurture debate continues as does the copreneurial relationship of Ben & Kristin. Ben also produces and co-hosts the Home Improvement Show on Newsradio WOOD 1300. When it's not raining you'll find Ben riding his motorcycle or with their dogs Sam & Lucy.

The following are Ben's quotes from a recently published interview with the National Association of Home Builders, Media & Public Relations Department in Washington, D.C. talking about professional designations:

"None of the innovators of our industry became innovators in a vacuum. In all disciplines of life, to be exceptional you have to first master the basics. Earning a designation, like the CGR, helps ensure that you've learned the basics of this industry. It's scary to think how many folks don't even know what they don't know."

"The CGR [Certified Graduate Remodeler Designation] says to our clients, 'I am continually improving myself as a remodeler by studying the best practices of our national industry and I am using that knowledge gained from the collective experience of our industry to give you a better remodeling process and end result in your project.'"
