As you plan your remodel and make all the big selections like flooring, countertops, or cabinetry it’s easy to forget about the finishing touches that will add detail or improve function in a space. Fortunately, these small but important details won’t break the bank. In fact, they are often the things many homeowners end up loving the most about their remodel.

Here’s a list of small details that can have a big impact in your remodeled home.

1. Under-cabinet lighting. Lighting placed directly under your kitchen cabinets does double duty as both task and mood lighting. Switch them on when preparing meals on your countertops or for times when you just want some soft lighting to create a bit of ambiance.

2. Dimmers. These are great because they allow you to adjust the brightness of your lighting depending on the activity or mood you want to set. Dimmers are particularly fantastic in dining rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
3. Trim. Whether minimal or ornate, trim finishes a room and should be matched to fit with the style of the home.

4. Niches. We love incorporating niches for highlighting art or creating a special storage area in a space. And they are a must have in showers!

5. Hardware. Door handles, drawer and cabinet pulls have a huge impact on creating the design aesthetic in a room. With an enormous variety of selection available between materials, shape, size, and finish you will be sure to find something you love.
