One of the best places to do that is in your own back yard! Expanding your livable space outdoors is an investment that rewards you with beautiful areas to relax with your family and entertain guests. There are all sorts of possibilities: decks, patios, screened porches, gazebos, and sunrooms. If you have been considering an outdoor living space remodel, we’ve got some great ideas to share with you. **Log Cabin Deck** [![Screen Shot 2015-03-27 at 9.07.47 PM](https://www.thompsonremodeling.com/hs-fs/file-3490233074-jpg/blog-files/screen-shot-2015-03-27-at-9.07.47-pm-694x1030.jpg?width=337&height=500&name=screen-shot-2015-03-27-at-9.07.47-pm-694x1030.jpg)](https://www.thompsonremodeling.com/hs-fs/file-3490233074-jpg/blog-files/screen-shot-2015-03-27-at-9.07.47-pm-694x1030.jpg) The owners of this lovely log cabin home requested an update to their existing unused and unsafe deck. Their vision was to create a "beer garden" atmosphere where they could sit and enjoy the natural views. An old lumber deck and railings were removed and replaced with Trex composite decking and aluminum railing. A gorgeous cedar pergola brings a rustic yet refined feel to the deck. **Tuscany Deck** [![Screen Shot 2015-03-27 at 9.11.45 PM](https://www.thompsonremodeling.com/hs-fs/file-3490233084-jpg/blog-files/screen-shot-2015-03-27-at-9.11.45-pm-737x1030.jpg?width=358&height=500&name=screen-shot-2015-03-27-at-9.11.45-pm-737x1030.jpg)](https://www.thompsonremodeling.com/hs-fs/file-3490233084-jpg/blog-files/screen-shot-2015-03-27-at-9.11.45-pm-737x1030.jpg) A beautiful new deck in a rich, dark Timbertech is accented with a grand lighted staircase. This inviting outdoor living space is the perfect spot for grilling, eating meals and hanging out while enjoying the lovely canopy of trees.
