Check out the latest edition of The Thompson Times! This month's issue offers valuable tips on mudroom organization. Here are just a few of the tips:

Shower Door Fix
Listener Response: "Good morning! I enjoy your show each week, and heard your comments this morning on replacing shower door rollers. Several months ago our shower door started to function poorly, and I found one of the rollers had worn out. I went to the local hardware and plumbing store to pick up replacements (as always in these situations, if one of a set wears out it's best to replace all of them) but searching the plumbing section alone and then with a clerk no shower door rollers could be found. On a hunch, I walked over to the "screen and patio door" area and, lo and behold, found a good stock of exactly the rollers I needed. Best of all, because these (shower door) rollers hadn't sold well to (patio door) customers, I got all four for less than I'd normally have paid for a single roller, though frankly they're not expensive even at full price. Fifteen minutes later, our shower doors opened and closed like new." Gary from Pearline, MI
Mudroom Organization
This is the time of year when our mudrooms are being put through their paces. If you have school-aged children or had grandchildren visit you over the holidays you experienced first hand how much stuff it takes to keep a family warm.
Station Wagon at Lowes
So this morning right after co-hosting the Home Improvement Show I drove over to Lowes to buy two cool furniture-like bathroom vanities for "The Final Frontier." I probably shouldn't say "final" but what this trip to Lowes did signify is the beginning of our last MAJOR frontier of our current home...the main floor bathroom.
A Day till Done
Okay, it's confession time. Do you see this photo of our beautiful living room/front entrance? Look down and to the left. There is a big piece of molding called baseboard and then there is a little piece of molding called shoe molding in front of it. We did this project a year ago, but I didn't install that little piece of shoe molding until Charlie, one of our fabulous Lead Carpenters, came to the house last Friday and knocked out three different carpentry items that were on my ToDo list for a looong time.
5 Minutes, Less Stress
5 Minutes, Less Stress Last Wednesday I tripped over something at the bottom of our staircase down to the basement. I needed to bring up all the Christmas decorations and what was before me felt like a sea of stuff in the basement. Emotions I dare not share welled up inside me and I went on a 5 minute power clean. I didn't call a family meeting, I didn't ask for help, I just started stacking and sorting.
Most of us hate being cold in our homes. There are many many reasons why this happens during the heating season, but there are 5 that I think would be immediately helpful.
