Dress Up Your Bathroom with a Vessel Sink

Looking for a place to add some pizzazz in your bathroom remodel? A vessel sink can be a great option for creating a beautiful focal point in your powder room or master bath. This type of sink is designed to sit above or partially below the countertop and the options are plentiful when it comes to style. You can find anything from an oversized rectangular trough-style sink to something more ornate in a decorative glass, or perhaps even something hand-painted.

If you think a vessel sink may work for you, there are a few important things to keep in mind.

The height of your counter and the style of your cabinets need to be carefully considered. You don’t want your sink to be positioned too high for comfortable use, so the vanity itself needs to be approximately six inches lower in order to accommodate the height of the sink.

For a look at how a vessel sink can create a statement, here's a powder room and award-winning master bathroom we recently remodeled.

Powder rooms can be tight on space, but that doesn't mean you have to scrimp on style! In this powder room, we installed a square vessel sink to add interest to the vanity.  Since it's small in scale, there is still plenty of space on the countertops.

The design of this master bathroom is the ultimate marriage of function and style.  The clean lines of a custom built, floating vanity provides the perfect counterpoint to the curves of two sculptural vessel sinks. Here again, the size of the sinks allows for plenty of usable counter space area.
