Let’s take a moment and talk about how the bathroom has evolved over time. What used to be strictly utilitarian spaces have now become decorative and luxurious. Master bathrooms in particular are now designed to be a quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Powder rooms are often a great place to try out unique or higher end selections since they are smaller and require less material.

If a complete overhaul isn’t in your immediate budget, that’s okay, there are small changes you can make to up the luxury factor in your bath. Or, if you are planning a complete remodel in your near future, consider including these five details in your design.

  • Statement lighting. Crystal and chandeliers aren’t just for the dining room. Select an overhead light that matches your design aesthetic. Want something rustic? Try a wrought iron fixture. Prefer to add some glamour? Add some crystal vanity lighting.

  • Soaking tubs. Find a free-standing tub in a shape you love and let it take center stage. There are so many options available from great vintage style tubs with claw feet to those that are more modern and sleek.
