The Latest Kitchen & Bath Innovations for 2022

Posted by Ben Thompson on 02.23.22

Two of biggest builder industry shows were just held in Orlando earlier this month, the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builder Show (IBS).  Approximately 70,000 people attend these shows annually to see the latest trends and innovations from 1,200 exhibitors in appliances, flooring, countertops, fixtures, and finishes.  We love to read about the most exciting products that make their debut at the shows and thought you might be interested too!

Smart Technologies & Artificial Intelligence

  • Motion activated light switches by Legrand.
  • Whole home water systems that will alert you to leaks and prevent pipes from freezing by automatically flushing your pipes if you are away by Moen.
  • The LG Washtower has a washing machine that detects load size, soil level, fabric types and dispenses the correct amount of detergent.  The washer then communicates with the dryer to adjust the appropriate drying settings.  The machine will also notify you when it’s time to clean the washer tub or if the dryer vent is clogged.

Keeping Things Clean

  • A self-sanitizing garbage disposal by Moen.
  • A dishwasher with handles and other surfaces coated with antimicrobial treatment by GE.

New & Improved Fixtures

  • Workstation sinks that incorporate inserts for straining, chopping and drying.

  • Wheel shaped plumbing knobs and handles were shown by many manufacturers.

Elevate Your Bath

  • Relax and enjoy the pampering experience of Kohler’s Stillness Infinity Experience tub, a free-standing deep tub that includes steam, aromatherapy, and bottom lighting set atop wooden grates to catch water spillover!

  • Many manufacturers have added bidet functionality to their smart toilets.
