Are Your Bathrooms Candidates for Upscale Pull and Replace Remodels?

Posted by Ben Thompson on 03.22.18

There are times when remodeling a room doesn’t require expansion by taking down walls or reconfiguring space. Perhaps the area is already adequate in size but the existing materials and features are simply out-of-date, worn-out, or don’t fit your style preference. When this is the case, we call this type of project an upscale pull and replace remodel.

Recently, we had the pleasure of working with a client who wanted to update most of the living spaces in his newly purchased condo. Part of that remodel included two upscale pull & replace bathroom renovations.

In the master bathroom, we were able to use the existing vanity but added a new Cambria Ashford quartz countertop. Sinks, faucets, mirrors and light fixtures were also updated. The focal point of this space is the fantastic tile accent wall featuring a rich brown horizontal mosaic tile design.

The homeowner wanted a larger shower, so we utilized a linen closet to expand the space to offer an expansive walk-in shower with a frameless glass door enclosure. The 12x24 tile surround in the shower matches the new flooring and the horizontal tile accent is the same as what we used for the feature wall. The new color palette is lighter, brighter and makes the face feel larger.

In the guest bathroom, we replaced a dated pedestal sink with a modern floating vanity made of Alder wood. This is topped with the same Ashford quartz as the master bathroom’s vanity. For additional cohesiveness throughout the house, we utilized the same sink, faucet, mirror style and tile flooring here as well.

These new bathrooms make the condo feel brand new and are much more to the owner’s liking.
