Project Spotlight - Outdated Bathroom Gets Amazing Makeover

Posted by Ben Thompson on 08.20.16

The before and after photos of this bathroom remodel are so dramatic they will make you look twice! Many Grand Rapids homeowners have an outdated bathroom or two in their homes that they want to update. For this project, our client's requested a major refresh of their main bathroom without making any structural changes. Aesthetically, they wanted the bathroom to be done in whites and grays, but still have a masculine feel.

THE BEFORE

There were many things making this bathroom feel dark - the wallpaper, the wood trimmed doorway and shower, and the dark shutters on the window.

The shower did not extend to the ceiling, which made it difficult for a taller person to use. It was also really dark inside since it didn't have a light.

THE AFTER

We removed the all the wallpaper, the trimmed doorway, and window shutters to open up the space.  We actually reused the existing cabinetry and painted it white and added new hardware, which was a big budget saver. The major stunner of the project is the gorgeous Cambria countertop accented with a new sink and faucet.

A spacious new shower will accommodate taller users and has glass shower doors and a recessed light fixture.  No more showering in the dark!
