A Selection Our Clients Love – Open Shelving

Posted by Ben Thompson on 10.12.17

Open shelving is making its way into our client’s remodeling designs for kitchens, bathrooms, and even basements!

Who says your storage has to be hidden? Exposed, open shelving has become a very popular selection and can be seen in all the latest remodeling and decorating magazines and websites. This storage option offers both functional and aesthetic benefits and we have some great examples to show you. We believe you'll be inspired to include them in your own remodel!

In the Kitchen

To keep things open and airy around the sink and window area, we incorporated open shelving for additional space for storage and display.  Cabinets would have blocked the flow of natural light from the window and crowded the area.  The finish coordinates with the cabinetry and is a seamless addition to the overall design.

Finding a spot for everything in the bathroom can be difficult.  In this remodel, we incorporated three floating shelves above the toilet to provide a space for lotions and extra hand towels where they could be easily accessible. The reclaimed open shelves echo the finish of the vanity mirror frame.

 In the Basement
