You’ve been thinking about a bathroom remodel for a while now. Every time you are in it you can’t help but notice all the things that you don’t like. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. Bathrooms and kitchens are the rooms in our homes where we notice imperfections more readily than others. When these rooms aren’t allowing us to perform our regular daily functions as well as they could it becomes a major source of dissatisfaction.

Recently, we’ve noticed that homeowners are looking to make their master bedroom a bit more functional, taking them beyond just a space for sleeping. Maybe you’d like a place to read or watch some tv, or perhaps you’d like a private entrance to an outdoor patio. Some of these design details can even transform a bedroom into more of a master suite living room. That sounds like a great place to start or end your day!

With a beautiful home on the lake, you can expect to see a lot of your family and friends in the summer and fall seasons. Our clients were looking forward to hosting parties and get-togethers in their lower level with direct access to the lake, but they wanted to make some updates to the space. The existing layout was functional and included a main living space, kitchenette, and full bathroom. It had almost everything they needed to keep the entertaining contained to the lower level without having to go upstairs.

Surely if you've watched an episode of Fixer Upper or one of the other hit HGTV shows you’ve seen one and they always seem so light, inviting and super stylish. It’s for those reasons that homeowners have been requesting to incorporate farmhouse design elements into their kitchen remodels. Whether you decide to go “full farmhouse” or select just a few items that give a nod to the style, there are certain key ingredients that are foundations of this design aesthetic.

There’s the tried and true shower curtain, the economical sliding doors, and then you have the framed glass door, or a frameless glass shower door. Budget can play a big factor in which option makes the most sense for your particular project and any of will work to keep water inside the shower, where it belongs. But in recent years, most of our clients have been opting to invest in a frameless glass shower door for their bathroom remodel and there are definite benefits to doing so.

Pendant lighting has become a very popular choice for our clients who are remodeling kitchens and bathrooms. This type of light hangs from the ceiling from a pole, cord, or chain and comes in a wide variety sizes, styles, and materials. Often, they become a focal point, which makes them an important part of the overall design aesthetic for a room. From oversized lanterns to more refined decorative glass or intricate metal designs, there is pendant light available to suit nearly any space.

Have you ever heard a remodeler or realtor use the term “good bones”? If you are an avid viewer of any of the popular HGTV shows, you’ve likely heard it there as well. When this term is used it typically means that a house is structurally sound and has some nice qualities to it, but it needs some renovations in order to make it great. There are times when remodeling a room doesn’t require expansion by taking down walls or reconfiguring space. Perhaps the area is already adequate in size but the existing materials and features are simply out-of-date, worn-out, or don’t fit your style preference. When this is the case, we call this type of project an upscale pull and replace remodel.
