Our clients love quartz countertops for their look, quality, durability, and easy care. For several years, lighter colors and textures have been most popular, but it appears that we are headed for a shift. This year manufacturers are debuting dark colors that are getting the attention of designers and homeowners. Every year thousands of builders, remodelers, and designers attend the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) to see the latest and greatest products being offered by over 600 exhibitors. As the largest kitchen and bath design show in North America, this is THE place to spot the trends and innovations coming our way in cabinets and countertops, and this year things are taking a dark and dramatic turn – in color that is.
Here’s What’s Trending in Kitchen Design
Sources for home design inspiration is plentiful these days. From the variety of home renovation shows to the millions of photos on sites like Instagram, Pinterest and Houzz, you could easily spend hours (or days) getting ideas for an upcoming remodeling project. There are also gorgeous model homes and glossy magazines, not to mention places you may visit on vacation or even in your everyday life. We love to see what will trickle down from all of these sources and make its way into the remodeling designs we create for our clients.
The selections you make for your remodeling project have a direct impact on your overall budget for the project. Two bathroom remodels of the same exact size and layout can vary in cost by the thousands or tens of thousands based on the selections and finishes that are used. This is why making selections within your budget is so important, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style or luxury. There are some great budget-friendly alternatives out there today that mimic the look of more expensive finishes. If you are looking for ways to keep your budget in-line consider some of these options when making your remodeling selections.
As we close another year of working with great clients and completing lots of remodeling projects, we thought it might be fun to create our own list of the top 5 remodeling selections we saw this year. All the magazines do their own "Best of" or "Top Trend" lists, so we thought why shouldn't the Thompson Remodeling team get in on the fun too. So, without further ado, here's our list of the Top 5 Remodeling Selections for 2015!
Quartz countertops were named top trends for both kitchen and bath designs this year in the annual National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) member survey. The Thompson Remodeling design team was not at all surprised since quartz has been a popular selection for our clients over the past year.
